Audit & Accounts Senior

We are seeking a detail-orientated Audit & Accounts Professional to join our growing team in Coventry. This is a client-facing role with responsibility for leading audit assignments and preparing statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors.

Requirements:

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist with relevant experience).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK audit standards and accounting principles (FRS 102/105).
• Experience using accounting/audit software (e.g. Iris, CCH, Caseware, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, lead, and complete audit assignments for clients across various sectors.
• Conduct audits from planning through to completion, including supervision of junior staff.
• Prepare audit files, identify key audit risks, and ensure compliance with audit regulations and internal procedures.
• Liaise with clients during fieldwork to ensure smooth delivery and address queries effectively.
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102/105).
• Ensure files are prepared to a high standard and reviewed before final submission.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact.
• Identify potential service opportunities and assist in business development where appropriate.
• Mentor and support junior team members, including reviewing their work and providing on-the-job training.
• Ensure that work is completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
