Payroll Executive

A client of ours is currently seeking a Payroll Executive to join their dedicated Payroll team based in the central Reading office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of a client portfolio within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a Payroll Executive, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls across your allocated client portfolio. Working closely with a friendly and experienced team, you will help service over 220 clients, ensuring a high level of accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Full payroll processing including starters, leavers, personal changes, holiday pay, and statutory payments.
• Ensuring compliance with RTI submissions and Auto Enrolment regulations.
• Liaising directly with clients via email and telephone to resolve payroll queries.
• Performing manual tax calculations and explaining payslips clearly and accurately.
• Supporting year-end payroll processes.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive experience in running payrolls from start to finish including all statutory calculations, RTI and year end. Experience of a multi-payroll environment, or experience within professional practice an advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience within a professional practice or multi-payroll environment.
• End-to-end payroll processing, with working knowledge of auto-enrolment, RTI and year-end procedures.
• Dealing with multiple/complex payrolls.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients/HMRC.
• You must be hands-on, proactive, with attention to detail, someone who can create a process and then drive it forward.
• Strong team player.
• Relevant payroll qualifications preferred (e.g., CIPP) bit not essential.
• Experience of IRIS Payroll Professional would be an advantage, training will be given.
